On ANI Development

Source: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=423339.msg7585122#msg7585122

Good work ! This is the right way to develop a coin. Anime doesn't attract the attention of trolls and disrupters because the monetary incentive is not immediate.

Konnichiwa, Majormax, it's always so good to see you here.

Yes, things are walking the best way they can now. See, the ANI exchange rate today is 0.00000004 BTC (0.00002335 USD). It was about 0.00000002 BTC not very long ago. That's great, because that was a natural movement, not an artificially induced one.

There are still many people dumping ANIs, mostly the miners, and it is their RIGHT to do it, because they need to profit from their (very important) service. BTW, any cryptocurrency must give all the necessary support to miners, because they are the "lungs" of the currency (while the community is the 心). Both must work in tune. Now it's up to the community to be naturally creating buy support: more buy support, means better prices, which brings in more miners, resulting in a stronger currency.

Now, for the buy support to be sustainable, we need utilities for the currency. Simply hoarding it will, in the end, makes more bad than good to the true currency, because money NEEDS to circulate in order to be effective. That's basic. The more it is useful, and circulates, more value it will receive (that's what worries me most now about BTC and the altcoins in general... people are not willing to spend their BTC, they prefer to hold and wait it to skyrocket... IMHO the effects will be opposite...). Anyway, if money does not circulate well, then no merchant will be interested in it, you can be sure (that's why it is important that the coin be fairly widespread, it circulates more easily - with the advantage that it also prevents orchestrated pumps and dumps).

Another important detail: VALUE comes from the coin per se, it must not come from the eventual exchanges it might be traded on. While I always vote for ANI to be added to new exchanges, and I thank all those who do vote, actually I am pretty satisfied with the exchanges that already believe in our Animecoin, and already give us their support (see links here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=423339.msg7539465#msg7539465). They are very good exchanges, and I am very thankful to all of them. Of course, more exchanges means more safety, more exposure, more reach, more volume, more options, etc. But Animecoin value cannot depend on being included in some new exchange, because this kind of dependance is only pump-n-dump wise: it gives us no real value, but only unsustainable (and risky) price, good only for short-term profits, but maybe not so good in the long run. (We must always put our focus on the Animecoin objectives, and they are long term objectives - see animeco.in)

So, as long as I see the community working together for Animecoin, and I see progresses, I am satisfied, no matter the eventual price at the exchanges.

And I am very happy with our community, because, little by little, we are joining forces, and, although I would love to see the Dev also openly participating (no doubt it would give more trust and strenght to ANI), I know it's Ani-chan's right not to be here  (in the open, because, who knows Ani-chan is not amongst us with a different nick, after all Wink). The Dev has his/her personal reasons not to be participating, and I am not here to judge anyone. (Satoshi Nakamoto is not openly active to BTC, and it has not been a problem at all...)

Thank you, my friend.

And, to Animecoin Community: 大好きだよ! ^^

Dreams, Goals, Objectives and much more

source: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=423339.msg7470050#msg7470050

みんなさんこんにちは!

There's something missing here: a list of dreams, goals and objectives for the Animecoin Community. I think it is very important that we have our list of goals, in order to not only organise things and give directions to our efforts, but especially to gather plenty of 力, enough to make our 夢 come true Wink
So, these are the Dreams, Goals and Objectives of the Animecoin Community: (friends, I'll put here my ideas, and I am hoping to receive yours also. Please contribute)

  • Animecoin Android Wallet App - It will be a very important tool to spread Animecoin everywhere. There's already a bounty offered by our community for our first approved Android Wallet App;
  • Animecoin Promotional Video - We do need (not only one, but several) an Animation Video, for obvious reasons Wink;
  • Animecoin Stealth mode transactions - Anonymous transactions is a basic necessary feature. Privacy is a human necessity, and a serious failure of the cryptocurrencies nowadays is being completelly transparent, allowing anyone tho know anything about anyone else's financial and transaction habits. It's not like that with fiat money, for example, because if someone gives someone else a ¥1,000 bill that is an anonymous transaction per se, why should it be different with Animecoin?
BTW, here is a nice video on the subject:

  • A vast market for Animecoin - A currency's main objective is to serve as a means of payment for goods and services. If there are no merchants accepting a currency, then it has no value as money. We need to conquer market for Animecoin. I am sure that it will be easy after reaching the goals above (Android Wallet, Promotional Video, Stealth Mode). This includes, of course, more exchanges! As someone said earlier, I also want to pay for my sushis with ANIs;

Well, that's about what I can come to remember as goals by now. I'll be complementing this post. Please, friends, contribute with your ideas. Let's make things work!

AnimeLotto

Why don't we play a little? Let's make a prize draw from the Animecoin CrowdFund donation list?

It works like that:

1 - When making a donation, each donor will inform at our community at the Bitcoin Forum the amount sent, the txID, and also his Animecoin address (in this case, I am not sure, but I think it is against the rules of the Bitcoin Forum to post addresses there, so maybe the address should be provided by private message).

2 - Each donor will receive a number respective to the donation made. The AnimeLotto number will be published here at http://animecoiner.blogspot.com/p/crowdfunding.html.

3 - The donor will have exclusive rights over his AnimeLotto number received: if he makes more than one donation during the period of the month current to the draw he will hold more than one AnimeLotto number.

4 - Every last week of each month there will be a draw.

5 - The specific date for the draw will always be previously announced at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=423339.msg7148609#msg7148609, and here at the Animecoiner blog, with a link to monitor the results.

6 - For fairness, a random generator (http://www.randomresult.com/ticket.php) will be used.

7 - 3 (Three) random numbers will be picked by the random generator, from the donations made on the period of the month current to the draw.

8 - The #3 will receive as the third prize 5% (five percent) of his picked donation multiplied by half the number of donations during the period of the month current to the draw, with a limit of 5% (five percent) of the total CrowdFund Balance.

9 - The #2 will receive as the second prize 5% (five percent) of his picked donation multiplied by the number of donations during the period of the month current to the draw, with a limit of 10% (ten percent) of the total CrowdFund Balance.

10 - The #1 will receive as the first prize 10% (ten percent) of his picked donation multiplied by the number of donations during the period of the month current to the draw, with a limit of 20% (twenty percent) of the total CrowdFund Balance.

11 - Whenever the Random Number is "1" (one), then the respective prize is kept for the CrowdFund balance (no one wins, or better, the Animecoin Community wins).

12 - At the end of each year, the AnimeLotto of the last week of December will be a special one, including all the AnimeLotto numbers of that year (BIG PRIZE!).

The motivation for this game is to attract the attention to Animecoin, and, of course, as an incentive for more donations, working, at the same time, as an Animecoin Giveaway.

So, How do you like this idea? Any comments, or opinions are very welcome.

I think we should try it, and see if it works.

What Are our Priorities?

Community source: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=423339.msg7143459#msg7143459

Hello, my friends! XD

Our Crowdfund balance is already of 2,876,363.67162999 ANI!! Cool, Thanks!!

Now we need to decide "what does the community want": What are our priorites?

 - My TOP vote is that we crowdfund a good developer to create a Free Animecoin Android Wallet App! This would be veeery cool, because more and more people will want to adopt Animecoin. If we find someone with the know-how to create such app, we could gladly pay him in ANI, and the dev would also earn lots of AnimeTips from the app users to support its maintenance.

Also, in the future, we could introduce a "stealth mode" function (something like the Darkcoin) for our hentai ;)

Please, share your opinions!

Thanks again!!

Animecoin Community CrowdFunding

Ok, my friends, we need more action here: What are we waiting for? If we do not start working nothing will happen! Animecoin community is able to reach our dreams! I truly have faith in us.

First thing that comes to my mind: We urgently need to start a crowdfund for bounties. This is our natural step in order to be possible to afford for the works that we need be done (to pay for marketing, for Mintpal listing, or for an Android Animecoin Wallet App, for example).

Another important thing is to form a Comission: a group of people who will donate their work in benefit of the Animecoin Community.

I volunteer to be part of the Animecoin Commission. It's the least I could do in order to contribute for our Community to make progresses.

In relation to the croudfunding, I took the liberty to create these two addresses specifically to receive funds for our bounties crowdfunding:

Animecoin Community CrowdFunding

 - Animecoin:
ASR7wYQHTwosYkHJn6e9QrmMsimVKfSHLS

 - Bitcoin:
14oUcnc6PUABRkHNLQD6CvbFjyL6c5vEpe

All donations received in bitcoins will be exchanged into animecoins in order to be recorded at the register in Animecoiner.blogspot.com/p/crowdfunding.html.

Whenever any payment is sent to one of those addresses, I request that the sender announces it here, making it public for our community, always informing the respective TxId. I'll keep a list of donations in our community at the Bitcoin Forum, and a backup copy here at the Animecoiner Blog

どうもありがとうございます

New Proposal in Discussion: "To fork the latest stable version of Quark to Animecoin's specifications"

There is a new proposal on the Animecoin Community forum at the Bitcoin Forum. Please, post your opinion there. Together let's make ANI grow.
Today at 12:52:36 PM
  #1736

If the community would allow me, I am willing to fork the latest stable version of Quark to Animecoin's specifications, along with a few hard-coded checkpoints. Even though my reputation is not yet firmly established in the community, I only have 1 account (this one) and is theoretically more invested in keeping my good name than a newbie account that may be one of many. I am sure that Theymos can verify that by checking my IP address. My post history may also be perused if it will help quell any fears on my integrity.

Having said that, I am not willing to take the helm as Animecoin's lead developer. While I do believe that a community takeover is required based on Ani-chan's inactivity, I am much more comfortable serving as a "spare developer" rather than as the lead one. To be perfectly honest, good time management is not one of my strong suits and that is enough of a deterrent in this case.

Anyway, if the community wants me to fork Animecoin via Quark, then I will. If I do, I will only post a download link to the Windows version of the compiled wallet and a link to a Github page containing the original Quark source, the forked Animecoin source, a separate text file listing all changes to the code, and another separate text file listing the IDE and dependencies used to compile the wallet. If someone else with a trusted reputation would like to do all of these instead, then I would prefer that since that means that I don't have to.

Thank you, Relnarien, for your offer. I am always so happy when our community receives proposals like yours, because it proves to myself that I am not alone here: that there are others who also believe in Animecoin, and are willing to help it grow. It's really an honour, in my opinion, to receive the attention of people with know-how enough to improve the Animecoin network. That is the kind of knowledge/help/work I (unfortunately) do not have/am not able to offer to our community.

I want things to happen. Obviously everyone here, like me, wants things to happen. And I would do anything within my reach to help things happen. But things must be done safely, in a sound manner, in order that our community gives firm steps forwards: that is the most important.

From the laymen understanding that is mine, your proposal seems fair enough, with the intention to update our network with the latest developments of the Quark network (algorithm in which Animecoin was based).

Not having enough knowledge on these technical details, I do not feel able to judge your offer or to make a real informed decision on the matter. Once again, I will follow the group decision on this proposal. By group decision, I will always pay special attention to the opinions of some of our friend members here which, with the day-by-day participation, have already earned enough community reputation from my perspective.

Thank you again, my friend.

Success ;)

A New Horizon for Animecoin?

Galera,

It's clear to all that the Dev of AnimeCoin are gone. But this coin must to don't die !!

This is the reason that give me to save it Smiley

If the Animecoin Community agree, I will take this and fork the wallet in a new era.

From a specific block I will fork the network and port it to X11 algo, with PoW and PoS mining option and with a new wallet features (More new release base, Coin Control and SSL HeartBleed fix).

New AnimeCoin will call RealAnime - RANI - and of course will be compatible with the old coins !!

Quote from: raganius on Today at 10:34:54 PM
Hello, my friend RealAnime,

I would also like to see Animecoin progress, and it is true that the devs seem to have abandoned the project. I also agree that we need people with the expertise (in computing, coding, cryptocurrencies, etc) to be actively helping (working) for the benefit of the community.

I, myself, am a layman when it comes to the skills needed here. In this position, I do not consider myself to be able to give a real informed consent on your suggestion. I know that this is more or less what is going on with Blitzcoin, and it seems to be very positive in their situation (their community accepted the idea, and is concentrating on such plan), especially because their currency was a scam after all (this, specifically, is not the case with Animecoin, from my point of view).

Animecoin needs lots of improvements and a great deal of basic services (a block explorer, for example, is emergencial), lest it won't survive very long. Such improvements and services, unfortunately, I personally do not have the ability to provide.

From your proposal, you make it clear that you have the qualities that this community is looking for, so I tend to be glad to receive your suggestion, as a glance of hope Wink

It is important, as you yourself have already suggested, to have the opinion of the most members of this community (holders of Animecoin) as possible. Together, we must consider very carefully all the implications involved.

I will follow the group in their final decision.

Thank you for your proposal. I hope we will succeed together. ^^

(The only thing I regret is loosing/changing the name: "Animecoin"... I confess I fell in love for it Smiley
